Visit the palace of King Minos, the plateau of Lassithi, the cave where Zeus was born, Kera’s orthodox monastery,traditional villages, unique landscapes.
We are going to visit many important and different places in eastern Crete.
Our first stop is at the most important archeological site in the world, the famous Minoan Palace of Knossos, the economic, political and social center of Minoan civilization and the seat of the wise king Minos.
We will learn the history of this magnificent place and the thrilling legends, such as the Labyrinth with the Minotaur.
Then we leave behind the north coast and ascend to the scenic Lassithi Plateau. Near the village of Kera, in Kardiotissas Monastery we will admire the paintings, the Byzantine icons and the wondrous image of Virgin Mary; a peaceful and powerful place with magnificent view.
Later on, we will visit the “ancient Bethlehem”, the cave where Zeus, the father of gods was born. This impressive cave rich in stalactites and stalagmites is located at an altitude of 1025 meters.
